Access to Drinking Water on Campuses

Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya provides free drinking water for students, staff and visitors in public area at each faculty and in the cafeteria to ensure there is enough drinking water to meet their consumption needs. According to most of the students purchase drinking water contained in plastic bottles or single-use plastics and also it is properly functioned that our body requires adequate water intake.

Providing drinking water filter facilities are needed and it is also our university’s initiative to answer the issues in re-using or reduction of plastic waste. The installation of water filtration systems allows students to refill bottles, which leads to a reduction of plastic waste as well as this is the practical solution which essential to reach the students understand the importance of staying hydrated and avoiding sugary drinks.

Moreover, the university takes an importance on families living on the daily-standard poverty budget which providing their most essential needs with free drinking water, it will reduce the money parents are forced to spend on purchasing water bottles.

Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya is also aware of the quality of drinking water and has therefore taken measures to clean water filters, inspect and maintain drinking water machines regularly so that students and staff can consume drinking water that is quality.
