On December 14, 2021, Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council on NESDC and related agencies to prepare a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the local development master plan of Songkhla and Pattani provinces. The purpose of conducting a Strategic Environmental Assessment is to plan sustainable regional development in the Songkhla and Pattani provinces, based on the existing resources, with a focus on the active participation of local residents.

On September 23, 2022, there was an official order from the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), numbered 210/2565, regarding the appointment of a committee to oversee the preparation of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the areas of Songkhla and Pattani provinces.

Dr. Worawitoo Meesook, Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, serves as a committee member for the Strategic Environmental Assessment project to assess the potential of the Songkhla and Pattani provinces in the context of natural resources and the environment from December 2022 – May 2024.

The project emphasizes the participation of the government sector, private sector, civil society, and the public in the development planning of Songkhla and Pattani provinces. Therefore, joint meetings are held with the communities in each district.
