In 2022, the Faculty of Engineering at the university undertook a project to enhance the quality of lighting inside classrooms, offices, and outdoor areas to align with the university’s commitment to conserving electrical energy. This involved replacing old 40-watt fluorescent lamps with newer 18-watt LED lamps, which provide similar illumination but significantly reduce electricity consumption, 27.62 kg CO2e per year per lamp. This transition effectively contributes to a reduction in carbon emissions from the power plant’s electricity production process.
