On April 20, 2022, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, represented by Prof.Dr. Suwat Tanyaros, the president, and the Department of Community Development, Ministry of Interior, Thailand, represented by Mr. Somkit Chantraruk, the Director-General of the department, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Samila Meeting Room, 3rd floor, Office of the President, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Songkhla Province.

Both parties recognized the importance of community engagement and the significance of providing community academic services. They shared a common commitment to developing learning capabilities, knowledge enhancement, community development, and economic empowerment of the local communities through the application of science and technology, as well as cultural resources. They aimed to facilitate the enhancement of community resources, network management, and academic services of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya and the Department of Community Development, Ministry of Interior, Thailand, for the development of human resources at various levels, ensuring their relevance to current circumstances and the generation of new knowledge crucial for community and regional development through academic principles.

Both parties, therefore, agreed to formalize this understanding in the MOU regarding community academic services within the areas served by Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, including Songkhla, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Satun, and Krabi provinces.
