The Siam Kammajon building in Thung Song District played host to a local bird drawing contest for students on January 24, 2022. The drawing competition is divided into two levels: primary level and secondary level. This contest held particular significance as it was an integral component of the inaugural festivities for the local bird photography exhibition within the district. The event not only offered a platform for budding young artists to display their talents but also provided an opportunity to celebrate the rich avian diversity of the region

At the competition, Dr. Prasert Nonthakarn provides a lecture to participants and interested individuals about local birds in the Thung Song district, imparting knowledge about them. The main objective is to encourage students to participate in long-term bird conservation. Additionally, to promote an awareness of the way indigenous people and wildlife may coexist. The judging committee for the photography competition consists of Dr. Prasert Nonthakarn and Dr. Worawitoo Meesook from the Faculty of Science and Technology at Srivijaya Institute of Technology, along with Ms. Warittha Songthuan, an art teacher specializing in Thai typography.

A total of 50 students enthusiastically participated in the drawing contest, with an equal split of 25 students from both primary and secondary schools. Each student not only showcased their artistic talents but also shared insightful ways to preserve and protect local birds, thereby contributing to the conservation of biodiversity in the Thung Song area. The event served as an educational platform that allowed these young minds to raise awareness about the importance of these avian species in the local ecosystem.
