Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya is actively supporting SDG 1.3.5, which is aimed at providing assistance to students from low or lower-middle income countries. As part of our commitment to this goal, we have undertaken research initiatives with the support of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) under the research project titled “Sustainable Transfer of Integrated Smart Agriculture Innovations.”
Assistant Professor Somboon Prasongchan and a team of researchers are leading this project. The research endeavors to aid students through thesis funding, specifically focusing on the development and application of microclimate systems for water and organic fertilizer delivery to plants. This innovative approach leverages the Internet of Things (IoT) technology to enhance agricultural practices.
The outcomes of this research encompass three main areas of innovation and learning support:
- Innovations in organic fertilizer production.
- Sustainable organic crop production models.
- Promoting learning and innovation in sustainable smart agriculture.
This project also extends to creating a network for learning and innovation in sustainable smart agriculture within the NRCT and local communities. It contributes to the enhancement of human resources and the quality of life within communities, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, including G6: Clean Water and Sanitation, G7: Affordable and Clean Energy, G11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, G12: Responsible Consumption and Production, G13: Climate Action, and G15: Life on Land.
