In 2022, the university upgraded its aquarium building to attract visitors. The upgrade included installing a solar power system on the roof, improving energy efficiency, and reducing reliance on external electricity. The rooftop solar system has a 150 kWp capacity, cutting approximately 83,850 kg of CO2 emissions annually. Additionally, the Faculty of Engineering improved lighting quality in classrooms, offices, and outdoor areas in 2022. They replaced old 40-watt fluorescent lamps with more efficient 18-watt LED lamps, resulting in a reduction of 27.62 kg of CO2 emissions per lamp each year. This transition significantly lowers carbon emissions from the power plant’s electricity production process.
