The Training Hub for Thai Native Chicken Production is part of the agricultural learning station development project aimed at fostering knowledge, enhancing the capabilities of farmers through a participatory approach, and promoting community economic development based on scientific and technological principles aligned with the BCG economic model. This initiative is supported by funding from the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and is managed by the Office of Innovation Management and Technology Transfer, in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya. The program welcomed farmers from the Khao Chai Son Native Chicken Farming Group in Phatthalung Province and the Wang Khong Development Community Enterprise in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. They participated in a study visit and training focused on poultry farm management. The training sessions were led by knowledgeable instructors, including Dr. Napapach Chuaichunhu and Mr. Nattawut Makasri. Both are faculty members in the Faculty of Agriculture at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya.
During the program, participants exchanged ideas on developing production and marketing strategies for native chickens in the southern region of Thailand. The discussions aimed to enhance efficiency and stimulate interest among farmers in various aspects, including breeding techniques, artificial insemination, and effective feeding program management.
This initiative not only equips farmers with practical skills and knowledge but also fosters collaboration and innovation within the agricultural community, ultimately contributing to the sustainability and growth of local economies.
