Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya is driving the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the “Mental Health Care Network Project: Advancing Quality Thai Citizens.” This follows the participation of Prof.Dr. Suwat Tanyaros, the university president, in the signing ceremony for the MOU between nine Rajamangala universities under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation and the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health. The goal is to promote comprehensive mental health support for students across the nine Rajamangala universities and to integrate collaboration among relevant agencies within the Ministry of Public Health and the nine Rajamangala universities.
To ensure that students and relevant personnel at the nine Rajamangala universities receive promotion and prevention regarding mental health, as well as support for those with mental health issues, including continuous monitoring to watch for mental health problems.
The university president assigned Assistant Professor Piya Prasongchan, the vice president, along with personnel from the Student Development Office, to collaborate with the Mental Health Center 12 and Songkhla Rajanagarindra Psychiatric Hospital to organize biofeedback activities for screening mental health and providing initial counseling for executives, staff, and students before the final examinations. A total of 89 participants attended the activity, including 64 staff members and 25 students. This initiative aims to effectively screen and care for the mental health of personnel and students and is part of the collaboration outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the “Mental Health Care Network Project: Advancing Quality Thai Citizens” among the nine Rajamangala universities, held at the university president’s office building in Songkhla.

Moreover, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya received a national award for outstanding performance in promoting student mental health in 2023 from the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health. This recognition aims to advance the strategy of building a network of healthy citizens within the primary healthcare system under the project titled “RUTS Mental Health.” The award ceremony took place from August 7-9, 2023, at the Prince Palace Hotel, Mahanakorn, Bangkok.
