On March 16, 2023, the Faculty of Agriculture at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, led by lecturer Boontham Sangkaew, organized a study visit for students in the Animal Science Program from the Thung Yai and Sai Yai areas of the Nakhon Si Thammarat campus. This visit focused on learning about dairy production at the Phatthalung Dairy Cooperative, which operates under the “Royal Initiative Occupation” project. Students in the Dairy Production course gained firsthand knowledge of the entire dairy production process. They learned about dairy breeds, feeding techniques, and management practices essential to maintaining high-quality milk production. The cooperative provided students with valuable insights into quality control, ensuring that raw milk meets strict standards before it reaches consumers. They also explored methods of milk processing that enhance the nutritional value and safety of dairy products.

This study visit exemplified the importance of cooperative partnerships in agricultural education, offering students an interactive learning experience aligned with real-world industry practices. By collaborating with the Phatthalung Dairy Cooperative, the university facilitated a hands-on opportunity for students to observe and participate in professional dairy farming processes. Through this partnership, students learned not only about production but also about the importance of sustainable practices in dairy farming. The cooperative’s commitment to quality and consumer health gave students a comprehensive understanding of how dairy farming can meet high industry standards. This type of cooperative education prepares students to apply sustainable practices in their future careers. Ultimately, the partnership supports the university’s goals of developing skilled graduates who understand the value of quality and sustainability in agriculture.
