The Faculty of Agriculture at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya offers a Plant Science Program dedicated to teaching students practical knowledge and hands-on skills in sustainable plantation methods. Students in this program learn to apply sustainable land-use practices that balance environmental health with agricultural productivity. The curriculum emphasizes essential topics like soil management, organic fertilizer use, and plant nutrition, all designed to help students manage agricultural land responsibly. By integrating both theoretical and practical elements, the program ensures that students are well-prepared to tackle real-world agricultural challenges. They gain valuable insights into the importance of conserving soil quality and enhancing crop productivity without compromising the environment. This comprehensive approach equips students to implement sustainable techniques that support long-term agricultural success. Faculty members encourage an interactive learning environment where students participate in projects, research, and skill-building exercises. The Plant Science Program ultimately aims to develop future agricultural leaders who are both skilled and environmentally conscious. With this education, graduates are prepared to make significant contributions to sustainable farming practices in Thailand and beyond.
Recently, two students from this program, Ms. Chanapa Ditta-apichon and Mr. Teerapat Sangkawang, demonstrated their expertise by winning third place in a prestigious agricultural skills competition. They competed in the seventh annual Rajamangala Agricultural Skills Competition at Rajamangala University of Technology Isan in Nakhon Ratchasima from December 20 to 22, 2023. The students excelled in a specialized event focused on soil, fertilizers, and plant nutrients, showcasing their deep knowledge and quick thinking in a team format. This achievement highlights the program’s commitment to academic excellence and the practical skill development of its students. Their success is a testament to the rigorous training and support provided by the faculty, who emphasize real-world applications and critical problem-solving. Competitions like this give students the chance to represent their university while building confidence in their abilities. Participation in such events also fosters a sense of pride and dedication among students, motivating them to further develop their expertise. The Faculty of Agriculture celebrates these achievements as they reflect the effectiveness of its teaching approach and the high caliber of its students.
