At Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, we prioritize environmental awareness as a core principle of our sustainability policy. Recognizing the detrimental effects of plastic pollution, the university has implemented a comprehensive strategy aimed at reducing plastic use across campus. This policy not only encourages students and staff to minimize their reliance on single-use plastics but also promotes the use of alternative materials. Recycling is a key component of our action plan, as it allows us to transform waste into valuable resources. By integrating recycling into our daily operations, we are actively contributing to a circular economy. The university has launched initiatives to collect and process plastic waste, creating various products such as paving bricks and table surfaces made from recycled materials. These products demonstrate the practical application of our recycling efforts and provide sustainable solutions for campus facilities. Additionally, educational campaigns inform the university community about the importance of recycling and proper waste management. Through these initiatives, we aim to cultivate a culture of environmental stewardship and responsibility among students and staff. Our commitment to reducing plastic use and enhancing recycling practices reflects a proactive approach to environmental challenges.

The university’s policy on plastic reduction not only addresses waste management but also fosters innovation and creativity in product development. By utilizing recycled plastics, we are setting an example for sustainable practices that can be adopted by other institutions and communities. Students are encouraged to engage in projects that explore new ways to repurpose plastic waste, promoting hands-on learning and critical thinking. Collaborations with local organizations and businesses further enhance our recycling efforts, allowing us to expand the range of products created from recycled materials. Workshops and seminars are conducted to educate participants about the recycling process and its environmental benefits, ensuring that knowledge is shared widely. This engagement strengthens community ties and fosters a collective commitment to sustainability. By showcasing the potential of recycled materials, we inspire a shift in mindset toward responsible consumption and waste management. The university’s actions and policies serve as a model for integrating environmental awareness into educational frameworks. Ultimately, our aim is to create a lasting impact on both our campus and the surrounding community, contributing to a more sustainable future for all.
