Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) participated in the exhibition showcasing innovations in “Audio Descriptions” at the International Day of Persons with Disabilities event in Songkhla province. The event was held on December 3, 2023, at Hatyai Hall (5th floor, Central Festival, Hatyai). The exhibition featured innovations in media accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
The event was graced by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Krisanapong Sangkhawasee, Vice President of RUTS, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phattira Klinleka, and staff from the Student Development Division, who actively participated in organizing the exhibition. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Somnuek Phromkhiew, Governor of Songkhla Province, who also presented awards to exemplary persons with disabilities, as well as organizations and agencies that support disability-related initiatives.
Attendees included government officials, private sector executives, disability networks, media representatives, and the general public. The event featured performances on stage by students from the Songkhla School for the Deaf, the Thamsakol School for the Blind in Hat Yai, and the Songkhla Phatthana Panya School. Sign language interpreters assisted during the performances and in reading the International Day of Persons with Disabilities message.
Other activities included the distribution of insurance policies, the presentation of wheelchairs to persons with disabilities, a lucky draw, health and dental check-ups, and over 100 exhibition booths showcasing products made by persons with disabilities.
