On November 11, 2023, faculty members from the Faculty of Architecture at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya participated as a local educational institution in social service activities alongside the Sustainable Agriculture Association of Songkhla. This involvement was part of the “Songkhla Go Green” project aimed at developing a low-carbon agricultural society. The initiative seeks to establish standards for assessing the value of trees and carbon credits for farmers, ensuring that these practices are credible and comprehensive.
Dr. Chila Kaewprak and Assoc. Prof. Thitikan Kaewsamwong served as committee members to endorse the TCB standard plots under the “Songkhla Go Green” initiative, which took place in the Kalpapruek Meeting Room at the Faculty of Engineering, RMUTSV. This collaborative effort not only supports local farmers but also contributes to sustainable agricultural practices and the reduction of carbon emissions, aligning with the goals of sustainable development, particularly in the context of community engagement and environmental stewardship.
This project illustrates the university’s commitment to fostering a sustainable future by integrating academic research and local community needs, thus enhancing the social and environmental landscape of the region. The work carried out by the faculty and their collaboration with local organizations serve as a model for other institutions seeking to engage in meaningful community development through education and research.
