The RUTS, Trang Campus received research funding from the National Research Office for the fiscal year 2023. On December 1, 2023, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Thasanapa Wongsanansilp, along with Assistant Professors Pasana Ekkudomphong and Suphaphorn Jaroensuk, the team organized an event to designate the status of “Community Blue Crab Learning Center” for the fiscal year 2023.
This initiative is part of the project aimed at strengthening the Blue Crab Banks in Satun Province, following the BCG economic model development approach. The center will serve as a hub for gathering information and knowledge on community management of blue crab banks and promote learning opportunities, knowledge transfer, and technology exchange related to the cultivation of juvenile blue crabs.
Additionally, it will provide academic services to the community, such as educational activities focused on self-learning processes that align with the lifestyles of community members, fostering a learning community driven by the community itself for the benefit of both the community and society.
Furthermore, materials for breeding female blue crabs to release juvenile crabs back into nature were distributed to a total of 13 blue crab banks in Satun Province: 5 in Thung Wa District, 5 in La-ngu District, and 3 in Mueang District. This initiative aims to enhance the economic, social, and environmental sustainability of the community.
