The Food and Nutrition program within the Faculty of Liberal Arts has introduced a comprehensive course on Snacks and Beverages Management. This course is designed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to the production and service of beverages and snacks, with a strong emphasis on health consciousness.

In this course, students engage in hands-on practice by creating a variety of health-focused beverages, such as smoothies, herbal teas, and infused waters. They learn about the nutritional properties of different ingredients, enabling them to make informed choices that promote wellness. The course also incorporates training on how to provide excellent customer service, as students serve their creations to faculty members, allowing them to interact directly with consumers.

This practical experience enhances students’ skills in beverage preparation, giving them the confidence to experiment with flavors and presentations while prioritizing health benefits. Additionally, it teaches them the importance of nutrition and wellness in food and drink choices, fostering a deeper understanding of how what we consume affects our overall health.

Through this interactive learning approach, students not only hone their culinary skills but also gain valuable insights into the dynamics of customer service. They learn how to engage with customers, understand their preferences, and provide personalized recommendations. This course ultimately prepares students for future careers in the food and beverage industry, emphasizing the significance of creating nutritious options that cater to health-conscious consumers.
