Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya has a conceptual design for education aligned with the National Education Plan (2017-2036) with the vision: “All Thai people receive quality education and lifelong learning, live happily, in accordance with the principles of the Sufficiency Economy, and adapt to the changes of the 21st century.” The university emphasizes key principles in its educational management, including: education for all, inclusive education, sufficiency economy philosophy and all for education. Additionally, the university adheres to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. Currently, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya provides educational opportunities for individuals outside the formal education system, as well as those within (students and learners). This initiative aims to enhance the quality of life for people of all ages, reduce educational inequality, and promote income distribution. Examples of the university’s outreach projects for communities and local schools.
The project to promote food processing skills among children and youth in remote areas, organized by the Faculty of Agro-industry Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus in collaboration with the Agricultural Land Reform Office of Nakhon Si Thammarat, took place on February 27, 2023. The objective of this project was to transfer knowledge and enhance skills in food processing, focusing on demonstrating the processing of oyster mushrooms into various products such as mushroom snacks, mushroom fermented sausage, and oyster mushroom meatballs. This training was provided to teachers and students from the Ban Yung Ngam Border Patrol Police School M.5, Bang Chan Sub-district, Bang Khan District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The instructors included Asst. Prof. Jareeporn Churjedton, Acting Sub LT. Preecha Muneesri, and Asst. Prof. Doungdeuan Songrit.
The project “Comprehensive Workshop Course on Designing, Installing, and Applying Solar Cells” was organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering at Rattaphum College Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, in collaboration with Southern Solar Cell Co., Ltd. and Siam Blue Technology and Environment Co., Ltd. on January 25-26 and 28-29, 2023. The objective was to provide knowledge to the public and interested individuals. The training included lectures on workplace safety and electrical hazards, general knowledge about electrical systems, the use of electrical measuring instruments, fundamental knowledge about solar cell systems, equipment and tools for installing solar panels, as well as the installation of solar panels on metal sheet roofs.
The training project for developing the production process of “Khor Ped” (a traditional Thai dessert) using innovation to promote vocational skills in the community is organized by the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya. The project was led by
Assoc. Prof. Kritsada Kongphoon as the project head. It will take place on November 25, 2023, Khuha Tai Sub-district, Rattaphum District, Songkhla Province. This project is funded by the Equitable Education Fund (EEF) under the Community-Based Learning Opportunities Promotion Project for 2023. Its objectives are to promote, support, and build vocational skills for individuals with limited financial resources and disadvantaged groups, enabling them to acquire knowledge and skills for employment and achieve
self-sufficiency. Additionally, the project aims to develop the production process and enhance the recognition of the community’s Khor Ped products.
