Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, through the Natural Resources and Environment Institute, launched a 360-degree virtual tour of the Rajamangala Trang Aquarium, transforming a traditional exhibition space into a publicly accessible lifelong-learning resource that extends beyond physical boundaries. The platform allows learners of all ages to explore immersive learning zones such as the Underwater IT Room featuring dugongs and sea turtles, the Rotating Technology Exhibition with 3D holograms, and the Aquatic Species Zone showcasing over 100 local and international marine species. The integration of interactive digital experiences enhances learning accessibility for students, researchers, and the general public—both onsite and online—promoting marine literacy and environmental awareness.
Impact Result :
The initiative broadened public access to marine education, enabling hundreds of learners—including students, researchers, and community members—to engage with high-quality scientific content once limited to onsite visitors. By leveraging digital innovation, the project democratized access to specialized knowledge, fostered public awareness of ocean conservation, and inspired continuous, self-directed learning. The use of interactive 3D and virtual technologies also enhanced community engagement and strengthened RUTS’s role as a provider of open educational resources, supporting the SDG 4 mission to promote inclusive and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
