The ‘Unālom’ ( u-n\bar{a}-l\bar{o}m ) is recognized as a crucial Buddhist symbol denoting wisdom ( Prajna ), enlightenment ( Bodhi ), and spiritual purity. In iconographic contexts, this symbol is conventionally situated on the urna (forehead) of a Buddha image to signify the nexus of intellect and spiritual awareness. Consequently, the reference ‘Unālom RMUTSV’ specifically designates the official emblem of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), an insignia deliberately crafted to embody and reflect the distinct identity and meaning associated with the institution.
Figure 1.1 displays the Unālom sculpture, which functions as a significant monument due to its inherent value and profound connection to religious philosophy. This sculpture is strategically positioned at the main entrance of the university to serve as a spiritual focal point, an institutional identifier, and a prominent campus landmark
