The Office of Innovation Management and Technology Transfer, RUTS, in collaboration with the Faculty of Liberal Arts and the Faculty of Business Administration, organized an exhibition and seminar titled “Study of Carrying Capacity and Development of a Sustainable Tourism Ecosystem Management Model in the Songkhla Lake Basin.”

The event was presided over by Mr. Amnuay Pinsuwan, Deputy Governor of Songkhla Province, and welcomed by Asst. Prof. Apirak Songraks, Vice President of RUTS.
Distinguished guests included Asst. Prof. Udorn Namsen, Assoc. Prof. Chatri Homkhiew, Assoc. Prof. Worapong Boonchuaytan, Assoc. Prof. Surasit Rawangwong, Asst. Prof. Boonruet Ommanee, and faculty members from RUTS. Also present was Mr. Somkiat Amnuaysuwan, Deputy Director of DASTA Songkhla Lake Basin Office, who delivered the opening report.

The exhibition presented three key pilot areas and their corresponding sustainable tourism measures – Thale Noi Wetlands highlighting waste-to-resource initiatives and local products; Koh Mak Island showcasing community-based tourism development and eco-friendly goods; and Songkhla Old Town featuring creative urban revitalization through street art and cultural crafts – along with a traditional food heritage display by the Songkhla Provincial Cultural Office, celebrating local delicacies and culinary identity of the region.

The event was made possible through the collaboration of multiple public and local organizations, including the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization, Songkhla City Municipality, Songkhla Office of Tourism and Sports, Songkhla Heritage Lovers Network, Songkhla Provincial Cultural Office, Koh Mak Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and Phanang Tung Subdistrict Municipality, all of whom contributed to promoting sustainable tourism and community-based cultural development in the Songkhla Lake Basin area.
