From 26 to 28 June 2024, the Technology Clinic of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) conducted a training program on catfish processing for commercial purposes as part of the Quality of Life Development Program for Underprivileged and Low-Income Families.

The training aimed to equip participants with practical skills in catfish processing to create value-added products, generate income, and strengthen community self-reliance. It also provided opportunities for underprivileged groups to access livelihood skills training at no cost.

Key aspects of the training included:

  • Practical demonstrations on catfish processing techniques.

  • Knowledge transfer on food safety, preservation, and product diversification.

  • Basic entrepreneurship and marketing skills to support small-scale businesses.

  • Hands-on practice for participants to process and prepare catfish products for sale.

The activity was organized in collaboration with Krung Yan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, led by Mr. Sippaphas Songtip, Mayor of Krung Yan Subdistrict, with participation from local government representatives and community members.

The “Catfish Processing for Income Generation” program demonstrates how Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya provides training opportunities to empower underprivileged groups and small-scale producers. By transferring practical processing skills and basic entrepreneurship knowledge, the program supports sustainable income generation.
