The Creative Textile and Fashion Innovation Exhibition features innovative works by lecturers and students from the Fashion and Textile Design Program, Faculty of Architecture, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya. The exhibition takes place at the Rattanapruek Shaw House in the heart of Songkhla Old Town, transforming this historic building into an inclusive cultural and creative learning space where people of all ages can experience art, design, and heritage together.

Organized under the project “Culture Smart City: Songkhla Old Town,” the exhibition reinterprets the cultural capital of the Old Town—from traditional weaving techniques and Southern textile motifs to local wisdom—into innovative fashion and design works.
It encourages public appreciation of cultural heritage while promoting accessibility, inclusivity, and creative engagement between the city, university, and community.

By connecting academia, local artisans, and the public, this initiative fosters community empowerment, sustainable cultural development, and the preservation of both tangible and intangible heritage, including traditional crafts, folk songs, and textile arts that define the identity of Southern Thailand.

The exhibition provides free and open access for all visitors, including students, local residents, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts. By activating the Rattanapruek Shaw House as a welcoming cultural venue, the project enhances public accessibility to arts and heritage, supports inclusive participation, and strengthens the role of Songkhla Old Town as a shared community space that promotes lifelong learning and well-being.

The project transforms Songkhla Old Town into a creative cultural district, reviving historical spaces for art, fashion, and community interaction. It encourages local participation, supports creative industries, and enhances urban livability through design and cultural innovation.

By integrating Southern Thai crafts, textile traditions, and folk culture into modern creative design, the project contributes to the preservation and revitalization of Songkhla’s tangible and intangible heritage. This collaboration among the university, local community, and cultural networks ensures continuity of heritage knowledge and transmits it to younger generations through creative education.
