The Office of Innovation Management and Technology Transfer, RUTS, participated in the “Gelar Melayu Serumpun 2024” festival held in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia, from May 29 to June 1, 2024. The participation was part of a cultural collaboration between RUTS, Songkhla Rajabhat University’s Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, and the Government of Medan City (Wali Kota Medan).

The international event brought together five participating countries – Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and India – to exchange and showcase traditional folk music and performing arts from across Southeast Asia. The festival served as a cultural bridge, promoting intercultural understanding, heritage appreciation, and creative collaboration among neighboring nations with shared Malay cultural roots.
