The Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), implemented the research and outreach project “Enhancing Community Business Capacity and Social Opportunities through Appropriate Technology for Targeted Poor Groups in Pattani Province,” funded by the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Area-based Development Funding (APD) for Fiscal Year 2023. Led by Asst. Prof. Suhaidee Sani under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Surasit Rawangwong, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the project focused on transferring engineering knowledge and developing appropriate technologies to strengthen the capacity of community enterprises. On 4 February 2024, a key field activity was held at the Vocational Training Center in Panare Subdistrict, Pattani Province, where researchers, students, and community members participated in collaborative learning and technology demonstration sessions. These activities emphasized hands-on engagement, enabling participants to apply engineering innovations to improve productivity, reduce production costs, and create new local products suited to their community context.

Impact Result :
The project enhanced the technological and entrepreneurial skills of over 150 community members, particularly among low-income and marginalized groups, enabling them to adopt new production methods, digital tools, and technical problem-solving techniques. By transforming research outputs into practical learning resources, the initiative established a sustainable university–community collaboration model that expanded access to vocational and technical education beyond the classroom. This approach promoted lifelong learning, created employment opportunities, and strengthened community resilience, exemplifying how applied research and innovation at RUTS directly support inclusive, skill-based education in alignment with SDG 4: Quality Education.
