Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) promotes community engagement and student empowerment through its provision of accessible learning spaces and digital facilities that extend beyond traditional classroom learning. The university’s libraries, computer and business laboratories, and tablet lending services are not only tools for academic study but also platforms for innovation, collaboration, and income generation. These resources enable students to apply their skills to real-world contexts—such as digital entrepreneurship, community-based projects, and online service development—allowing them to earn income while studying and contribute to local economic growth. By linking university resources with community development, RMUTSV bridges the gap between education and social impact.
This initiative reflects the essence of Outreach & Engagement, as it expands the university’s role in supporting both students and communities through the transfer of knowledge, technology, and skills that promote self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods. It directly aligns with SDG 1: No Poverty, addressing SDG 1.3.3 and 1.3.4 by providing support systems that reduce financial burdens and enable students from low-income families to complete their studies; SDG 1.4.1 by fostering sustainable employment and entrepreneurship opportunities derived from university-led learning activities; and SDG 1.4.3 by improving equitable access to essential educational and technological resources.
