Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV) places strong emphasis on student welfare through the implementation of comprehensive policies that support both educational success and quality of life. One significant example of this commitment is the provision of on-campus student dormitories, designed to create a safe, supportive, and learning-conducive environment. The university’s dormitory system ensures that students—particularly those from low-income backgrounds—have stable, affordable, and well-maintained housing throughout their studies. Each residence hall is equipped with essential facilities such as personal storage space, beds, study areas, and free Wi-Fi, enabling students to access online learning resources conveniently and continue their academic development without disruption.
Beyond providing accommodation, RMUTSV emphasizes the importance of holistic student care. Dormitory supervisors and staff members are assigned to support residents’ daily needs, maintain cleanliness, ensure security, and offer personal guidance. Common areas, such as shared lounges with television access, are designed to encourage social interaction and foster a sense of community among students. These provisions reduce financial and emotional burdens associated with housing, allowing students to focus more fully on their academic and personal growth.
This initiative directly aligns with the university’s Policy & Operation framework, which integrates quality of life enhancement into institutional governance and operational planning. It also supports SDG 1: No Poverty, particularly SDG 1.3.3 and 1.3.4, by providing necessary assistance for low-income students to complete their education successfully, and SDG 1.4.3, by ensuring equitable access to essential services such as safe and affordable housing.
