Asst. Prof. Udon Namsen, Vice President of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), together with Mr. Seree Thongchum, Deputy Dean for Administration and Planning, representing the Dean and faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering, collaborated with the Songkhla Municipality to implement the project “From Crisis to Adaptation: Developing High-Quality Marine Tourism in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea” under the Fiscal Year 2024 initiative. The project focuses on the development of a learning ecosystem, modern management systems, and the application of technology and innovation to promote sustainable marine tourism. Its main objective is to improve waste management methods in the marine tourism industry through the development of a tire-sweeping technology set for marine waste collection vehicles. This equipment serves as a key component of a towed beach cleaning machine attached to garbage trucks. The Faculty of Engineering has successfully completed the project, contributing innovative technological solutions to support environmental sustainability and efficient waste management in coastal tourism areas.
