On 18 December 2024, Asst. Prof. Thammasak Phuttakarn, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, together with Mr. Somchai Ruangsawang, Assistant to the President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus, Asst. Prof. Uayporn Wongkul, Director of the Campus Office, Mrs. Anongtip Wongkul, Head of the Faculty Office, and campus staff of Thungyai Area, led a team to distribute drinking water, eggs, and other essential supplies to flood victims in Moo 6, Wat Khuan Khlang, Thungyai Subdistrict.
This activity aimed to provide immediate food and basic necessities to affected families during the flood crisis. The eggs and other food items, which were partly sourced from the faculty’s agricultural production units, helped ensure that flood-affected residents had access to safe and nutritious food during the emergency period. The university plays an active role in supporting communities during times of crisis by providing essential food assistance to those facing food insecurity. This initiative reflects the institution’s strong commitment to community engagement and social responsibility. By utilizing its agricultural resources such as produce from university farms and livestock operations the university is able to respond quickly and effectively to urgent community needs. This support not only ensures that vulnerable groups have access to nutritious food during emergencies, such as natural disasters, but also reinforces the university’s position as a key partner in community resilience. Through these actions, the university helps to promote the well-being of affected populations, reduce the impact of crises on food security, and strengthen its outreach efforts as a socially responsible academic institution. This initiative demonstrates the university’s commitment to addressing food insecurity through direct outreach and intervention. By mobilizing agricultural products and essential goods to support flood victims, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya plays an active role in enhancing community resilience and ensuring access to food during emergencies.
