The Fashion & Textile Design Program (FOS: Fashion of the South), Faculty of Architecture, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), Songkhla, showcased its creative apparel designs at SiamCenterBIFW2024 on the Visionary Stage, Atrium 2, G Floor, Siam Center.
Led by Dr. Nawattakorn Umasilp, Asst. Prof. Tawan Tonyaelae, and Lecturer Natchana Nuanyang, together with third-year Fashion & Textile Design students, the team presented the collection “The Cultural Wonders of the South.” The works reinterpret southern Thai ways of life, culture, and local wisdom through contemporary silhouettes and detailing. Designers highlighted southern-identity fabrics including batik, “patek/patae” prints, and handwoven textiles sourced from community producers such as Goment Batik, Aiyah Batik, Thai Batik, Sontaya Batik, Saphan Phla Group, Rom Sai Weaving Group, Songkhla Batik, Leelawadee Batik, and the Hua Khao Women’s Community Enterprise. By merging these materials with on-trend design, the collection delivers a distinctive southern aesthetic while integrating coursework into real-world industry experience and entrepreneurial pathways for emerging designers.

FOS–RMUTSV joined students from 11 universities across Thailand’s four regions to open the runway at Siam Center’s Visionary Stage under the theme “Envision
The Future,” propelling Thai fashion toward new horizons with the energy of young designers nationwide.
