Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya promotes sustainable agriculture through Saiyai Smart Farm, an on-campus learning and production site that integrates academic knowledge with practical farming skills. Students grow vegetables using smart farming technology, applying controlled environment systems to ensure high-quality, safe, and chemical-free produce.
The vegetables grown are not only used for learning purposes but are also sold to students, staff, and the local community, creating a closed-loop system that links education, sustainable food production, and community engagement. This initiative demonstrates how agricultural education can be applied in real practice to support food security. This activity shows how sustainable agriculture can be embedded into academic programmes to produce real food for the community while equipping students with essential skills. By connecting production, learning, and distribution, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya contributes to the development of sustainable food systems.
