Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya signed an MOU on July 5, 2022, with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Public Health, and the National Alliance for Tobacco-Free Thailand to promote smoke-free campus policies. Under this initiative, designated smoke-free areas, clear signage, and awareness campaigns have been implemented to encourage a tobacco-free environment and promote a healthier, cleaner campus community.

As to continue the campaign, Asst. Prof. Piya Prasongchan, Vice President; Asst. Prof. Khwanhathai Jaipiam, Vice President; Asst. Prof. Chaiya Thanapatthasiri, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology; and Mrs. Dawdon Sawatdilannon, Director of the Student Development Division, together with lecturers from the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology and staff from the Student Development Division, participated in a meeting to discuss collaborative action plans for promoting a healthy media ecosystem to prevent tobacco and e-cigarette use in educational institutions.

 

The initiative is implemented through the student leadership development activity Hackathon 4Health: “Change Agents for a Healthy Society through Media Innovation”, in collaboration with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) and the Center for Creative Media for Children, Youth, and Families.

 

The meeting took place on March 18, 2024, at Srivijaya Conference Room, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya.
