Integrated Agricultural Technology Transfer and Agritourism Policy Implementation
Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya’s Faculty of Agriculture implemented comprehensive institutional policy for sustainable land management through Thung Yai Agricultural Fair 2024, held at Nakhon Si Thammarat campus from January 26-29, 2024. The opening ceremony on January 26, 2024, was presided over by Mr. Sritham Rachkaew, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, with welcoming remarks from Honorary Prof. Dr. Piamsak Menasan, University Council President, and event objectives presented by Asst. Prof. Somkid Chaiphet, Vice President. The fair integrated with the Field Day Technology Transfer Program for New Production Season 2024, reported by Mr. Puwadej Wuttiwongwat, Provincial Agriculture Officer of Nakhon Si Thammarat, demonstrating collaborative policy framework between university and provincial agricultural authorities. This strategic integration showcases institutional commitment to sustainable agricultural development supporting both productivity enhancement and agritourism promotion. The event featured agricultural product competitions with award ceremonies recognizing outstanding farmers, fostering community engagement and knowledge exchange between university researchers, students, local farmers, and visitors interested in sustainable agriculture practices.

Capacity Building and Value-Added Agricultural Product Development
On January 29, 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Somkid Chaiphet presided over the opening of specialized training and technology transfer workshop titled “Value Addition of Goat Meat Products through Technology and Standardization of Goat Meat Cut Products.” The training program, conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirisak Cheechang and Asst. Prof. Chareepon Chuajadton, comprised theoretical sessions at Lecture Room 2, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and practical laboratory training at the Faculty of Agro-Industry. This capacity-building initiative demonstrates operational implementation of institutional policy promoting optimal agricultural product utilization, value-added processing techniques, and standardization practices that enhance economic returns while maintaining product quality and safety standards. The workshop aligns with sustainable land management principles by demonstrating how livestock farming integrated with processing technology creates viable agritourism opportunities where visitors learn about complete agricultural value chains from production to value-added products. Through systematic technology transfer programs during the fair, the university operationalizes policy commitments to develop agricultural landscapes as multifunctional spaces serving production, education, and tourism purposes. The integration of Field Day activities with agritourism fair creates replicable policy framework where agricultural extension services combine with tourism promotion, generating economic opportunities for farming communities while preserving agricultural heritage and promoting environmental stewardship. This policy-driven approach establishes operational standards for sustainable agritourism development that balance agricultural productivity with educational outreach, community capacity building, and responsible land management practices supporting long-term sustainability of agricultural tourism destinations.
