Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) has embedded the principles of Education for All and Lifelong Learning into its long-term Strategic Plan (2018–2037), aligning with Thailand’s 20-Year National Strategy and the Southern Border Provinces Education Strategic Plan. Under its Policy and Operation framework, RUTS prioritizes equitable access to education, teacher empowerment, and community-based learning, particularly for underprivileged and marginalized populations in the southern border provinces. The university’s policies emphasize four key areas: (1) Equity and Accessibility – ensuring equal learning opportunities for all, including disadvantaged and remote groups; (2) Teacher Empowerment – enhancing teacher and educator competencies to meet 21st-century learning standards; (3) Integrated Educational Management – promoting collaboration between universities, local schools, and community enterprises through the “University as Mentor Institution” initiative; and (4) Sustainable Development Alignment – embedding sufficiency economy, multicultural understanding, and social harmony within education.
Impact Result :
The implementation of these policies expanded educational access and inclusivity, enabling greater participation among rural and marginalized communities. Through partnerships between universities, schools, and local organizations, RUTS improved teaching quality, strengthened community-based learning, and fostered innovation in education delivery. These outcomes demonstrate how institutional policy integration has transformed RUTS into a proactive agent of equitable and lifelong learning, supporting the objectives of SDG 4 – Quality Education, particularly in advancing inclusive, accessible, and sustainable education beyond the campus.
