This activity was part of the project “Hat Yai: Healthy City Co-Design”, a collaborative initiative between the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), Hat Yai Municipality, and the Faculty of Architecture, RUTS, under a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The project aims to develop Hat Yai as a participatory healthy city, integrating urban design, community well-being, and health-oriented innovation through cooperation among academic, governmental, and community networks.

The study visit was intended to strengthen the project team’s capacity, enabling participants to gain international perspectives, exchange knowledge, and explore innovative practices in sustainable city development. By learning from successful case studies in Kuala Lumpur, the team sought to apply best practices to the Hat Yai Healthy City Co-Design framework.
