Marine Conservation Awareness Project
October 14, 2025

Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), in collaboration with the Marine Science and Environmental Science Program under the Faculty of Fisheries Science and Technology, has advanced efforts toward achieving SDG 14: Life Below Water.
Continuing this mission, on 11 March 2024, RUTS Trang Campus launched a marine conservation awareness project focusing on the training of mangrove ecology studies, marine environmental assessment, water quality monitoring, and marine debris studies, engaging 100 students from Benjamarachutit School, Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The highlight of the initiative was a field study at Hat Mod Tanoy Beach, Koh Libong Sub-district, Trang Province, where students participated in seagrass surveys and restoration activities. Seagrass beds are vital feeding and nursery grounds for fish, shrimp, and blue crabs, and serve as key food sources for endangered marine species such as sea turtles and dugongs.
