Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), through the Faculty of Agriculture, operates a melon greenhouse farm at its Thungyai campus as part of the Plant Science Program’s applied research and teaching activities.
The facility provides students with opportunities to learn and practice melon cultivation techniques in a controlled environment. It serves as both a learning center and a research and production site, enabling students to understand the complete process of smart farming from seed selection, planting, irrigation management, pest control, to post-harvest handling.
The melons harvested from this greenhouse meet consumer quality standards, reflecting the successful application of research-based cultivation techniques to real production systems. The melon greenhouse at Thungyai Campus is a model of applied agricultural research and education, where students gain hands-on experience while producing high-quality crops.
