Asst. Prof. Chayanat Buathongkuea, an expert member of the Western Southern River Basin Committee, attended the 1/2024 committee meeting held at the Phra Ya Ratsada Meeting Room, 5th Floor, Trang Provincial Hall. The meeting was convened to acknowledge key issues related to water resources management in the basin. The committee reviewed the forecast of the water situation in the Western Southern River Basin, the Water Resources Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2025 approved by the National Water Resources Committee on December 25, 2023, the progress of implementing resolutions from the Basin Committee for Fiscal Years 2023/2024, and the ongoing review of the Master Plan for Water Resources Management in alignment with the Water Resources Act B.E. 2561 (2018).
In addition, the committee considered and provided opinions on the Additional Water Resources Management Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2025, consisting of 111 projects with a total budget of2,197.02 million baht, and approved the Additional Master Plan for Water Resources Management in the Western Southern River Basin for Fiscal Year 2024, consisting of 41 projects with a total budget of 606.52 million baht. The Secretariat was assigned to proceed with the sign-off process accordingly.
