Asst. Prof. Chayanat Buathongkuea, an expert member of the Western Southern River Basin Committee, attended the 2/2024 committee meeting held at the Phra Ya Ratsada Meeting Room, 5th Floor, Trang Provincial Hall. During the meeting, the committee acknowledged reports on the water situation in the Western Southern River Basin and the management of water resources within the basin, including nine ongoing projects and ten proposed new projects. The committee also considered the Updated Water Resources Management Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2025, approved by the National Water Resources Committee. The committee provided opinions on the Action Plan for Enhancing the Efficiency of Water Resources Management for the 2024–2025 rainy season, comprising 197 projects with a total budget of 1,294.03 million baht. Furthermore, the committee recommended two key directions: (1) measures for promoting water-use efficiency across sectors within the Western Southern River Basin, and (2) plans for water allocation and reforestation to enhance water retention in the basin area.
