Asst. Prof. Chayanat Buathongkuea, an expert member of the Western Southern River Basin Committee, attended the 5/2024 committee meeting held at the Phra Ya Ratsada Meeting Room, 5th Floor, Trang Provincial Hall. The meeting agenda included three key items: 1) A report on the operations and progress of the Western Coast River Basin Committee. 2) Progress updates on the preparation of the River Basin Management Plan (2026–2029) and annual performance report for fiscal year 2024. 3) A presentation on the outcomes of water resource management projects implemented under the 20-Year National Water Resources Management Master Plan (2018–2037) for fiscal year 2024. During the meeting, the committee discussed and exchanged views on several important issues. These included the request for water allocation during the second crop season in areas under the Western Coast River Basin, the management of flood and drought conditions in certain localities, and the coordination between relevant agencies to ensure effective water management in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The meeting concluded with the committee emphasizing the importance of integrated collaboration among responsible agencies, encouraging prompt issuance of necessary permits and coordination with local authorities to enhance efficiency in water resource administration across the basin.
