Asst. Prof. Chayanat Buathongkuea, an expert member of the Western Southern River Basin Committee, attended the 7/2024 committee meeting held at the Phra Ya Ratsada Meeting Room, 5th Floor, Trang Provincial Hall. The meeting addressed two major agenda items: The progress report on water management implementation in the Western Coast River Basin area; and The summary of discussions and resolutions from the 4th meeting of the Office of the National Water Resources (ONWR) Committee. The meeting aimed to review and provide recommendations for the Annual Water Resources Management Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2026, the Draft Strategic and Operational Plan for 2026–2029, and the Eight Urgent Measures on Water Management for 2024–2025, as prescribed by ONWR. Additionally, the committee reviewed and endorsed proposals related to the monitoring and evaluation framework for implementing the 2024–2025 water management plan, emphasizing the integration of local-level participation and follow-up mechanisms. The meeting concluded with the committee’s recommendation that the ONWR Regional Office 4 continue coordinating with relevant agencies to ensure consistent implementation and progress tracking of water management activities across the Western Coast River Basin.
