Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) has launched a comprehensive initiative to reduce energy consumption and minimize carbon emissions across its campus. As part of this effort, the university is systematically replacing all outdated 40-watt fluorescent tubes with modern, energy-efficient 18-watt LED tubes in every building and facility. This upgrade not only significantly lowers electricity usage but also contributes to a more sustainable and environmentally responsible campus.
By implementing this energy-efficient lighting system, RUTS demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development and climate action. The initiative serves as a practical example of how universities can lead by example in reducing their environmental footprint, while fostering awareness among students, staff, and the wider community about the importance of energy conservation and low-carbon technologies.
Through these efforts, RUTS is not only achieving immediate energy and cost savings but also reinforcing its role as a pioneer in creating a greener, more sustainable future for higher education and society as a whole.
