Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) has implemented a policy on academic services and support for cultural and local knowledge as community learning resources, reinforcing its commitment to lifelong learning and inclusive education. This policy ensures that the university’s academic expertise, research outputs, and technological innovations are accessible to the public while actively supporting the preservation and promotion of local wisdom and cultural heritage. Through the establishment of the Office of Innovation Management and Technology Transfer, RUTS provides academic consultation, intellectual property services, and technology transfer programs that connect university research with community and industrial needs. The university also collaborates with public, private, and civil society sectors to organize knowledge-enhancement activities such as workshops on natural resource management, cultural conservation, and practical life-skill development—enabling communities to become self-reliant, innovative, and sustainable.
Impact Result :
The policy expanded public access to lifelong learning resources by integrating academic knowledge with cultural and local heritage, transforming communities into active learning spaces. By institutionalizing mechanisms for knowledge transfer and community engagement, RUTS empowered local people to preserve their cultural identity, apply practical skills in daily life, and strengthen their capacity for sustainable development. This initiative demonstrates how policy-driven operations can bridge higher education with community learning, promoting equitable, inclusive, and sustainable access to education in alignment with SDG 4.
