On September 4, 2024, at Room CH.202, Chalermphrakiat Building, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (Trang Campus), Asst. Prof. Sitthichok Chanyong, Vice President of the University, assigned Asst. Prof. Manoch Khumcharoen, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Fisheries Technology, to preside over the opening ceremony of the “Project on the Development of Democratic Citizenship under the Constitutional Monarchy.”
The program was organized by the Office of the Election Commission of Trang Province, led by Mr. Sirasit Ngasaman, Director of the Election Commission of Trang, together with his team. He presented the objectives of the project in accordance with the 2024 annual budget plan approved by the Election Commission of Thailand.
The activity aimed to disseminate knowledge on democratic governance and promote civic participation among university students and the general public. It sought to encourage youth and citizens to understand their roles and responsibilities as citizens in a democratic society under the constitutional monarchy.
The project was conducted in collaboration with RMUT Trang Campus and involved student leaders and student clubs from three faculties, under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Student Development. Student representatives who participated in the training were encouraged to serve as peer trainers and youth ambassadors to further promote democratic values within the university and their communities.
This initiative enhanced students’ understanding of citizenship, participation, and constitutional governance
