The Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), through the research project “Research and Innovation for Enhancing Garcinia Products of Community Enterprises in Yala Province to Strengthen Local Economic Competitiveness,” funded by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for Fiscal Year 2024, and led by Assoc. Prof. Worapong Boonchouytan, focused on developing innovative solutions and transferring appropriate technologies to improve the quality, safety, and value of garcinia-based products. The project also aimed to enhance the business capacity of local community enterprises in Yala Province through research-driven innovation and practical knowledge exchange. On 30 October 2024, the research team conducted a series of field activities to deliver innovation outputs, provide hands-on training, and upgrade production processes for four target community enterprises: Ban Tha Sap Women Farmers’ Community Enterprise (Tha Sap Subdistrict, Mueang Yala District), Ban Na La Agricultural Product Processing Community Enterprise (Ta Chi Subdistrict, Yaha District), Ban Kok Chang Pla Som Women Farmers’ Community Enterprise (Mae Wat Subdistrict, Than To District), and Ban Bue Mang Next-Generation Farmer Heirs Community Enterprise (Bue Mang Subdistrict, Raman District).
Impact Result :
The project enhanced the technological capacity and innovation skills of four community enterprises in Yala Province through the transfer of research-based knowledge and appropriate technologies. Local producers improved product quality, increased market competitiveness, and strengthened their business management capabilities. The initiative also established sustainable collaboration between the university and community enterprises, promoting lifelong learning and practical application of research for local economic growth beyond the campus.
