The Faculty of Agriculture at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) is conducting a research project titled “Management of Native Crossbred Chicken Farmer Groups in Central Southern Provinces to Create Competitive Opportunities.” The project is led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Napaphat Chuaychunu and is scheduled to run for one year, from May 16, 2024, to May 15, 2025.
This research aims to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of native crossbred chicken production in the central southern provinces of Thailand. The project focuses on:
- Organizing and strengthening farmer groups to improve collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective decision-making.
- Improving management practices through research-based approaches, including feed optimization, health management, and breeding strategies.
- Increasing market opportunities for native crossbred chicken by promoting product quality, branding, and access to local and regional markets.
- Capacity building for farmers, providing training and technical guidance to help them adopt innovative and efficient production methods.
The outcomes of this project are expected to empower farmers, boost productivity, and enhance economic opportunities while supporting sustainable livestock practices. Additionally, the research will provide data and insights that can inform policy development, improve extension services, and promote regional agricultural innovation.
