Dr. Prasert Nontakan, from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, has developed an innovative device titled “Automatic Water Hyacinth Flowerpot Processing Machine.”

This invention is designed to automatically convert water hyacinth an invasive aquatic plant that causes significant environmental issues into biodegradable flowerpots.

The primary objectives of this project are to reduce plastic waste generated from agricultural activities, enhance the value of water hyacinth by transforming it into an environmentally friendly product, and promote community-based income generation. By applying engineering and environmental innovation, the project not only mitigates ecological problems but also contributes to sustainable development and circular economic practices within local communities.
