In 2024, RUTS collaborated with University in Malaysia as Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perlis, Malaysia to focus on how universities can collaborate and review action to build best practice to relate to SDG 1 to 17. For example, during 4th -9th June 2024, Dr Lamun Kayurin, Assistant to the President for International Affair, together with 4 Lecturers in Accounting programme and 30 RUTS accounting students did participate RUTS & UiTM International Accounting Collaboration Camp 2024 at the UiTM, Perlis, Malaysia. The opening ceremony was hosted and welcomed by Assoc. Prof.Dr Azrul Abdullah, Dean of Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM . Duration of the programme was for a 6-days period and Thirty-five of RUTS Accounting participants and Thirty-five of UiTM Accounting participants did participated the programme. The camp aimed to enhance educational collaboration, especially in accounting, and promote cultural exchange between the participating institutions. The programme composed of three main activities including academic workshop, cultural performance exchange and sports activities. The camp’s activities aligned closely with several United National Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including SDG 4:Quality Education that related to academic workshops and accounting seminars enhanced student’s technical and cross-cultural learning skills, SDG 5: Gender Equality which related to promote inclusion and equal participation among male and female students in international academic and leadership activities, SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions that related to built mutual respect and intercultural understanding among ASEAN students through teamwork and collaboration, SDG 13 &14 Climate Action/Life Below Water that related to link environmental awareness to accounting ethics and sustainability reporting during discussion and field learning , and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals that related to strengthen institutional cooperation between RUTS and UiTM, as well as forming a model for regional collaboration in higher education.

In conclusion, the International Accounting Collaboration camp 2024, It represents a successful model of international collaboration that advances the SDGs through experiential learning. It transformed a short-term academic exchange into a platform for sustainability education, cross-cultural competence, and institutional partnership contributing directly to SDG 4, and SDG 17 and indirectly supporting SDG 5,13 and 16. Moreover, both RUTS and UiTM participants have the opportunity to learn and practical skills to design and development Accounting curriculum for Undergraduate degree and Short courses as well as joints research and publication.
