On December 24, 2024, the Office of Innovation Management and Technology Transfer, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), in collaboration with the Songkhla Provincial Cultural Office, organized the activity“Data Collection on Songkhla’s Culinary Identity” under the project “Innovation Development and International Platform for Advancing Songkhla toward the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in Gastronomy” for the fiscal year 2025.

The event took place at the Bang Klam District Office, Songkhla Province, and was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Mali Chaiyang, Bang Klam District Community Development Officer.
This initiative aims to document and strengthen Songkhla’s cultural food heritage, enhance creative innovation in gastronomy, and promote community-based food tourism aligned with UNESCO’s Creative Cities framework.

Special thanks were extended to Ms. Thanyaporn Boonsiri and Ms. Wannisa Phaephan, lecturers from the Food and Nutrition Program, Faculty of Liberal Arts, RUTS, who served as facilitators and experts in leading the knowledge-sharing and database-building sessions.

This collaboration highlights RUTS’s leadership in integrating innovation, culture, and community participation to advance Songkhla’s recognition as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Through interdisciplinary engagement and cultural database development, the project enhances local identity, creative economy potential, and sustainable cultural tourism in Southern Thailand.
