From 14 to 17 August 2024, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Rattaphume Campus, proudly hosted the RUTS and UniMAP International Collaboration Camp 2024. This collaborative program brought together students and lecturers from RUTS (Thailand) and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) to exchange knowledge, share innovations, and build long-term academic partnerships. The opening ceremony warmly welcomed all participants and highlighted the significance of cross-border collaboration in education and technology. The camp aimed to enhance students’ practical learning experience through integrated projects in renewable energy, agricultural technology, and environmental sustainability. The collaboration provided an opportunity for both Thai and Malaysian students to work together, exchange cultural values, and strengthen ASEAN academic cooperation. Through interactive learning and group projects, participants developed mutual understanding and leadership skills. The camp also promoted the use of English as a medium of academic and cultural communication. RUTS emphasized its commitment to developing young innovators ready to address global sustainability challenges.

One of the main focuses of the camp was the integration of technology with sustainable agriculture. Participants engaged in workshops covering topics such as solar cell systems, agricultural machinery management, smart farm systems, and stingless bee farming. Each workshop provided students with hands-on experiences, from setting up solar panels to applying smart technology in farm management. The solar energy workshop demonstrated how renewable energy can power agricultural processes efficiently. In the smart farm session, students learned how data sensors and automation can improve crop yield while conserving water and energy. The agricultural machinery session focused on equipment management and maintenance to support productivity in local farming systems. Meanwhile, the stingless bee farming activity taught participants how to raise bees sustainably for pollination and honey production, which directly supports biodiversity. All activities were conducted on the RUTS Rattaphume Campus farm, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life practice. The combination of technology, ecology, and community engagement created a meaningful learning experience for everyone.

By the end of the camp, both RUTS and UniMAP participants gained valuable insights into innovative agricultural technologies and sustainable practices. The collaboration strengthened academic relations between the two institutions and promoted joint research opportunities in renewable energy and smart agriculture. Students from both countries expressed their appreciation for the hands-on learning experience and cross-cultural teamwork. The program also encouraged them to think critically about sustainability and the role of science in shaping a better future. Faculty members from both universities discussed potential future projects, including joint innovation challenges and student exchange programs. The camp demonstrated how academic partnerships can lead to shared growth, regional development, and scientific advancement. RUTS reaffirmed its mission to serve as a hub for regional collaboration in science and technology. The success of this international camp reflects the power of cooperation in achieving educational excellence. Both universities look forward to continuing this collaboration to nurture future leaders in sustainable innovation.
