RUTS has designed various courses on sustainability to teach students for adopting sustainability in their lives. It has focused on Education for SDGs: specific courses on sustainability, RUTS has dedicated courses for Undergraduates degree that address sustainability and the SDGs. Particularly, Accounting Programme of Faculty of Business and Administration has integrated SDGs into Management Accounting course. This course focuses on the Sustainability Management Accounting including environment, society and economic and highlights some of the sustainable business practices that the business uses to produce great products in an environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and economically viable way. For example, RUTS Collaborates with UiTM for International Accounting Camp 2024.
Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) collaborated with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, to organise the International Accounting Camp 2024 from 4–6 June 2024. The camp served as a dynamic platform for student mobility and lecturer engagement, creating opportunities to share knowledge, teaching experiences, and innovative ideas in the field of accounting. Academically, participants benefited from workshops focused on Sustainability Management Accounting, Sustainability Financial Reporting, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Accounting. These sessions enhanced participants’ understanding of emerging trends in sustainable and technology-integrated accounting practices. The exchange of academic perspectives contributed to the development of innovative learning approaches and strengthened future collaboration in research and curriculum development. Beyond academics, the camp promoted cultural understanding, teamwork, and leadership through various cultural and sports activities. Participants developed a deeper appreciation of cultural diversity and built meaningful international friendships. The community engagement visits to local entrepreneurs further enriched the learning experience by exposing participants to sustainable business practices and real-world applications of sustainability principles in local contexts. In conclusion, the International Accounting Camp 2024 created lasting academic, cultural, and social impacts. It highlighted the importance of international partnerships in advancing education for sustainability, supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and preparing future accounting professionals with global competencies and a strong sense of social responsibility.
